Sale of Coins

The Terms and Conditions upon which the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) agrees to sell commemorative coins are set out below.  By placing an order, you accept and agree to be bound by the provisions of these terms and conditions.

  1. Ordering

    Online orders: Complete the form provided on the website and follow the instructions for online submission. Once the form is submitted, the ECCB will be notified of your order and will confirm the receipt via email. Be advised that the placement of an online order is no guarantee of a purchase.

    In person: Coins can also be purchased in person at our headquarters in Bird Rock, Basseterre, St Kitts. Appointments are preferred and can be made by using the contact information provided below. Intended purchasers would be required to comply with all security protocols for entry onto the ECCB campus.   A limited number of coins may also be purchased at the ECCB Agency Offices in Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines. 

  2. The Coins

    The images of the coins on the Website are for illustrative purposes only. Although every effort has been made to display the colours of the coins accurately, the ECCB cannot guarantee that the coins are displayed accurately on screen. Accordingly, coins, upon delivery, may vary slightly from how they appear on the Website. The ECCB takes no responsibility for any such variation.

    The packaging of the coins may vary from that shown on the Website.

  3. Price

    The prices of the coins are exclusive of any taxes, postage/delivery costs or other charges.  The purchaser shall be responsible for payment of any additional charges in connection with the sale including taxes and postage/delivery costs. 
    The prices of the coins as advertised on the Website are subject to change from time to time without notice.

  4. Availability

    The availability of the coins as advertised on the Website is subject to change from time to time.

  5. Payment
    1. Coins purchased in person can be paid for in XCD or USD cash.
    2. Online orders are to be paid for by credit card.   Payment details will not be retained by the ECCB. 

  6. Delivery
    1. Coins purchased in person will be available for collection on the same day.
    2. Coins purchased online will be dispatched via FedEx within 2 to 3 business days after payment confirmation is received.

  7. Ownership 

    Ownership of the coins will pass from the ECCB to the purchaser when the ECCB receives full payment, including postage/delivery costs, of all sums due in respect of an order.

  8. General refund and returns policy

    Please contact the ECCB to request a refund or a replacement by using the contact information provided below.
    A request for refund or replacement must be submitted within seven (7) days of receiving the coins.

    A purchaser has the right to a refund or replacement if the coins:
    1. subject to clause 2, do not match, in all material terms, the description on the Website; or
    2. are defective, unless the defects were specifically drawn to the attention of the purchaser before the purchase was made, or the purchaser examined the coins before the purchase was made.

  9. If a purchaser has a right to a refund or replacement, the ECCB will:
    1. Refund all payments received, including the costs of postage/delivery; or
    2. Arrange for a replacement to be sent, subject to availability, when the coins are returned.

  10. Liability and disclaimers

    All coins sold and product descriptions, information and materials posted on this Website or provided in person are provided “as is” and without warranties express, implied or otherwise.

    The liability of the ECCB for any direct loss or damage in connection with any coins purchased from the ECCB is strictly limited to the purchase price of the coin or coins paid for by the purchaser. Under no circumstances shall the ECCB be liable for any indirect or incidental or consequential loss or damage of any kind for any reason.

  11. General

    The ECCB has the right to revise and amend these terms and conditions from time to time by posting revised terms and conditions on the website.

    The ECCB shall not be liable for any failure to perform any of the obligations under these terms and conditions which is caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control including, but not limited to, any Force Majeure Event such as national emergency, natural disaster, war, strike, lock-out, interruption or suspension of means of communication and/or transport, prohibited import or export, blockade, blockage of exports, cessation of production or delivery or prohibitive governmental regulation.

    The ECCB’s failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of the terms and conditions shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision unless acknowledged and agreed to by the ECCB in writing.

    These terms and conditions shall be construed in accordance with the laws of St Kitts and Nevis and the purchaser agrees to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the St Kitts and Nevis Courts in respect of same.

    The ECCB reserves the right to refuse to sell coins that have been ordered, without giving a reason and without any liability to the intended purchaser.  If the ECCB is unable to accept an order for any reason, the ECCB will inform the intended purchaser and no charges will apply.
